This week, WorkingNation’s #WeeklyChangemaker is Michael A. Pfeffer, assistant vice-chancellor and chief information officer of the UCLA Health System.
Michael leads the development and operations of UCLA’s information and telecommunication systems, including CareConnect, UCLA Health’s enterprise-wide Electronic Health Record (EHR).
He specializes in using informatics (the science of how to use data, information, and knowledge to improve health care) to help his patients. In fact, Michael describes his role as akin to being the conductor of a highly-skilled “informatics orchestra,” capable of creating innovative solutions meant to improve patients’ lives.
