The digital divide threatens job loss for Hispanic workers

Watch: One upskilling program is trying to close the gap and prepare workers for jobs of the future
-

A large portion of the Hispanic workforce is concentrated in low-paying jobs. With more than 90% of today’s jobs already requiring digital skills and only 55% of Hispanics having none to low digital skills, this workforce faces significant job loss in the future.

As part of our WorkingNation series Age in America with partner Scripps News, we brought together a panel of experts to explore the barriers which can prevent older and midcareer workers from getting promotions or getting hired in the first place.

In this clip from our one-hour TV special on Scripps News, Breaking Barriers: Embracing Age in the Workforce, Hispanic Federations’ vice president of Community & Economic Development Diana Caba discusses the Latino Digital Accelerator Program which works in communities nationwide to upskill the Hispanic workforce.
