“My mission is focusing on equity and innovation. And equity – that means everything from disability, accessibility, looking at everything from how we think about racial inequalities, all of those elements when we actually put them into our innovation frameworks,” says Sam Estoesta, project manager with a social innovation specialization, TD Bank.
“When we actually look at equitable innovations, that’s where we can create those products that elicit a sense of belonging for everyone.”
WorkingNation sat down with Estoesta at the 2023 Disability:IN Conference in Orlando.
She notes that last year, TD Bank publicly launched its equity resource hub that had been initially designed for use by colleagues internally.
“We get our input from our colleagues with different abilities and different identities. Really utilizing those employee resource groups and those business resource groups,” explains Estoesta.
She adds, “Thinking about in our user testing. Making sure that we have representation from different user types. Thinking about the different ways that we can involve our digital accessibility teams and our different subject matter experts for different customer experiences. It cannot be one group that does this.”
