For the past 14 years, the TGR Foundation: A Tiger Woods Charity has been helping kids and teenagers discover their passion for a STEM career through an innovative, hands-on training program. The kids learn what it takes to be a forensic scientist, an engineer, or a marine biologist through problem solving lessons that involve real-world techniques.
The outbreak of coronavirus in the U.S. has put a temporary hold on those on-site TGR Learning Lab classes. But those lessons are still available to every kid and their teachers, for free, through the nonprofit’s online portal TGR EDU: Explore.
In this episode of Work in Progress, Dr. Katherine Bihr, Vice President of Programs and Education, and I discuss the importance of continuing to offer these classes as we look past the current public health crisis and toward the future of work.
