Mary Tobin on what veterans can bring to service organizations

Warrior Community Integration Symposium: Thought leaders discuss support services and initiatives in the workforce for veterans and military spouses
-

“My role is to ensure that those transitioning service members and their family members who are moving from place to place or trying to discover what they want to do next – if they find that they want to continue their service to their country, they find a home at AmeriCorps,” says Mary Tobin, senior advisor and executive director, Veteran and Military Spouse Talent Engagement Program, AmeriCorps.

She continues, “Once they complete their year of service or their volunteerism at AmeriCorps, they find a safe place to land.”

WorkingNation sat down with Tobin in Atlanta at the Warrior Community Integration Symposium – an annual convening of veteran-serving organizations hosted by America’s Warrior Partnership.

Tobin reminds that veterans are an untapped resource with strong leadership, team-building, and technical skills.
