Chok Ooi on striving for diversity and inclusion

WorkingNation interviews leaders in public, private, and nonprofit spheres at the virtual JFF Horizons conference as part of our #WorkingNationOverheard campaign

Chok Ooi is co-founder & CEO at Kenzie Academy. Kenzie offers on-campus or online programs for 6-to-12 months. Using an income share agreement, the students pay very little tuition upfront and do not begin paying back until they are earning $40,000 or more.

Ooi says Kenzie’s commitment to diversity and inclusion is reflected in their student body. Ooi says Kenzie is creating a program with employers to mentor Black students and graduates. “Giving that advice and then help leverage the power of that network to place our students in the right positions.”

WorkingNation interviewed Ooi for #WorkingNationOverheard as a media partner with the JFF Horizons 2020 conference. You can watch all the interviews on our YouTube channel.
