What’s happening around the nation to help people get back into jobs

WorkingNation is always looking for job and training opportunities available around the country. This week, we found some programs in five states, including access to tech jobs in Florida, logistics positions in Georgia, and boosting the logging talent pipeline in Maine.

From Florida: Refresh Miami reports REEF Technology plans to hire more than 1,000 employees in Miami over the next three years with a commitment to include hires from underserved communities.

From Georgia: Business Facilities reports a Netherlands-based logistics company is expanding its North American headquarters in Cobb County leading to the creation of 500 new jobs.

From Hawaii: Hawaii News Now reports Honolulu is partnering with the University of Hawaii and its community college system to provide free job training to 500 residents who lost their jobs during to the pandemic.

From Maine: Mainebiz reports a hands-on, 12-week certificate program developed by the logging industry, a logging association, and community colleges is helping fill the industry’s talent pipeline.

From South Dakota: The Brookings Register reports that next month South Dakota State University is offering a remote workers training course through its extension programming.
