A new $100 million Google initiative is expanding training to low-income, underserved people, according to Jake Edwards, vice president of social investments, Social Finance.
Social Finance is a national impact finance and advisory nonprofit that’s managing the investment program.
WorkingNation sat down with Edwards at the ASU+GSV Summit in San Diego.
Edward says Year Up and Merit America are the first two training programs that are involved. “Through our partnerships with high-quality training programs, we’re able to help them go deeper in their communities. Oftentimes, they’re constrained in terms of who they can serve and how many individuals they can serve based on what resources are available.”
