Amber Gaither on the National Labor Exchange

Stakeholders share ideas with WorkingNation Overheard at the NASWA Veterans Conference

Navigating the system when transitioning out of the military can be perplexing. “It can be frustrating how complex it is,” says Amber Gaither, director of the National Labor Exchange, National Association of State Workforce Agencies (NASWA).

Her organization helps coordinate job opportunities between federal, state, and vetted businesses for veterans and civilians.

WorkingNation sat down with Gaither at the NASWA Veterans Conference in Washington, D.C., the organization’s annual conference around hiring in the military-connected community.

“We collect jobs from every state job bank. We collect jobs from the federal government’s job bank and then our employer members and employers who we vetted. So we spend the time vetting those employers, making sure that they’re credible. We make sure jobs are authentic before we share them more broadly,” Gaither explains.
